Kristin + Ryan’s wedding is the perfect example of seamlessly blending urban sophistication and timeless romance. From getting ready in the modern elegance of the Arlo Hotel to an industrial chic ceremony and reception at the Brooklyn Winery, every detail of their day captured the contemporary romantic atmosphere they had always dreamed of.

Crossing Paths in Brooklyn
Kristin + Ryan’s love story began like many other modern couples – through a dating app! Kristin had moved to Brooklyn following the loss of her father. Just one year later, she connected with Ryan on Hinge. When they got to talking, they quickly discovered that they actually lived fairly close to each other. They even took the same train to work every day! Who knew how many times their paths had crossed! They had their first date at Sidecar, a bar on 5th Ave in Brooklyn. From the beginning, they clicked fast and it was easy to see that this was the definitely beginning of something truly special.
As they prepared for their wedding, Kristin + Ryan kept one thing at the top of their priority list above all else: making sure their wedding was fun while staying true to themselves. They weren’t worried about listening to every piece of advice they received from loved ones. Instead, they wanted their wedding to be a reflection of them and their love story from start to finish. All that mattered was that the day felt right for them and was filled with plenty of laughs and memories to last a lifetime.

Wedding Morning at the Arlo Hotel
Kristin + Ryan kicked off their wedding day at the Arlo Hotel. This vibrant, modern hotel perfectly set the tone for the day with its fun, fresh energy and vibrant colors. Kristin + Ryan’s choice to stay at the hotel the night before meant they could simply wake up and start the day without needing to worry about extra travel time. That meant their wedding morning was free for them to just relax and soak up the excited anticipation of the day.
Once they were both ready, it was time for their first look. Ryan made his way from his room and waited for his cue to enter Kristin’s. As he walked inside, Kristin made her grand entrance from around the corner. A huge smile lit up Ryan’s face the moment he laid eyes on her. The sheer happiness they radiated as they greeted each other was contagious. It was the perfect way to start the first day of this new chapter in their lives together.
After their first look, Kristin + Ryan hopped into an iconic vintage yellow NYC cab for the short ride to the Brooklyn Winery. Of course, the couple didn’t miss the opportunity to continue their photo session along the way. As the cab pulled up to the winery, we snapped a few fun, romantic portraits in the cab heading into the venue. Once inside, we captured a few more shots, making the most of the quiet moments before guests arrived and the celebration began.

Planning a Wedding at the Brooklyn Winery
Weddings at the Brooklyn Winery are perfect for couples looking for an effortlessly cool and contemporary look to their big day. Headed by professional event managers, in-house winemakers, and a talented culinary team, Brooklyn Winery is one of Brooklyn’s newest wedding venues tucked right in the heart of Williamsburg.
From exposed brick to wood wine barrel accents to saying I Do in front of an entire living plant wall in the Atrium, this industrial chic venue blends the look of an urban winery with romantic natural elements. Couples looking to book the winery can expect all the perks of a full-service venue including tableware, linens, candles, and more all handpicked by their design team to bring your dream wedding to life.
Food and wine are the heart of the Brooklyn Winery experience. After a full tasting event where couples can sample menu options, the venue’s executive chef will craft a delectable family-style dinner that you and your guests are sure to love. And of course, no dinner at a winery would be complete without wine! Your guests will enjoy your wedding day while savoring wines made in-house throughout the night. You even have the option to have full wine bottles with custom labels as your wedding favors! All of these details came together to create the modern but romantic atmosphere Kristin + Ryan were hoping for on their wedding day.

Wedding Ceremony in the Atrium at the Brooklyn Winery
Before guests began to arrive, Kristin + Ryan’s family gathered together in the Gallery for family portraits. The high ceilings and skylights allowed natural light to filter in while the dark wood walls and stylish furnishings created a classy, modern background for the families to pose in front of. Once portraits were done, the wedding party retreated to the private wedding suite as guests began to arrive. Servers met each person at the door offering wine and champagne as guests mingled before settling in for the main event.
When it was finally time for the ceremony to begin, Kristin, Ryan, and their wedding party lined up just outside the Atrium. Ryan entered the room first followed by their parents and the rest of their wedding party before Kristin appeared in the doorway arm in arm with her brother. The couple exchanged their vows with the living plant wall serving as a breathtaking backdrop for the moment they officially became husband and wife.

Elegant Reception at the Brooklyn Winery
After the ceremony, guests moved into the Gallery for cocktail hour. Meanwhile, the team at the Brooklyn Winery transformed the Atrium from ceremony space to reception hall. As the venue has a stunning and memorable look to it already, Kristin + Ryan chose to keep their décor to a minimum. Long wooden tables were set with simple glass vases of white roses and flickering candles of different heights, creating a warm, elegant atmosphere.
The wedding party’s grand entrance into the reception flowed directly into Kristin + Ryan’s beautiful first dance. Afterward, everyone found their seat for a family-style dinner, highlighting the closeness and love shared among the couple and their guests. As dinner continued, friends and family stood to give heartfelt speeches in honor of the couple, evoking everything from smiles to tears to laughter. For dessert, guests enjoyed both the wedding cake and a special ice cream station from Ample Hills Creamery, adding a fun and creative touch to an already memorable night.
After plates were cleared away, the celebration transitioned to the dance floor. The night ended with the Atrium filled with laughter, dancing, and music. It was the perfect close to a lovely wedding day made even better by favors of house-made bottles of wine, a nod to the winery’s signature offerings.
